RNS (Responsive Neurostimulator) STUDY



Purpose:

To find out if a device that is implanted into the brain that can detect seizure onset and potentially stop seizures with a direct stimulus to the affected area is effective in treating seizures

Inclusion criteria:

Age 18-70; Has at least 3 disabling seizures per month; Has failed at least 2 antiepileptic drugs

Study participation is expected to last approximately 2 to 3 years with a study appointment every 1 to 3 months. Subjects will be implanted with the RNS device and seizure frequency and severity and physical and emotional health will be monitored throughout the study.
